Tyler, the Creator is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and fashion designer. He was born Tyler Gregory Okonma on March 6, 1991, in Ladera Heights, California, and raised by his mother and grandmother.

As a child, Tyler was drawn to music and began teaching himself to play the piano at age 14. He as well developed an interest in skateboarding & formed a collective called Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (OFWGKTA) with several other like-minded artists.

In 2009, Tyler released his debut mixtape, “Bastard,” which gained critical acclaim for its raw, confessional lyrics and innovative production. He followed up with “Goblin” in 2011, which featured the controversial single “Yonkers” & far established him as a rising star in the hip-hop world.
